The term "pelvic organ prolapse" describes the descent or sagging of organs that are usually supported within the pelvic cavity. The organs that commonly "prolapse" include the uterus, bladder and bowel. The condition is usually experienced as a feeling of heaviness in the vagina, and can lead to bulging of the organ through the vaginal opening.
The condition is incredibly common in women; in fact as many as half of all women who have experienced childbirth will develop some form of pelvic organ prolapse within their lifetime if they do not take proactive measures to prevent it. This can lead to a host of health issues and will definitely impact the quality of life.
The Kegelmaster™ can provide one of the most effective means for avoiding the development of pelvic organ prolapse and even can recondition the pelvic floor muscles which are the primary support mechanisms for supporting the pelvic organs. Strong pelvic floor muscles are essential to good pelvic health, the prevention of prolapse, rectocele and incontinence. Stronger pelvic floor muscles can also alleviate vaginal pain during intercourse and can increase sexual sensation.
Although pelvic floor muscle training alone can probably not reverse severe prolapse, regular kegel exercises with the Kegelmaster™ can significantly alleviate or completely prevent the advancement of this condition.
